Saudi Arabia's government agency responsible for AI and data-related fields visited the Mobility Technology Center of ThorDrive, an autonomous mobility startup. Since attending the "Korea-Saudi Innovation Roadshow" co-hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport of Korea and the Ministry of Transport and Logistics of Saudi Arabia in November of last year, there have been ongoing exchanges between the two sides regarding the future of transportation and logistics.
On the 2nd, a delegation from the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) visited ThorDrive. ThorDrive showcased the latest advancements in AI-based autonomous mobility for smart city logistics to the visitors. They also participated in various discussions regarding Saudi Arabia's future mobility strategy.
The visit was attended by 12 officials from the Saudi Arabian government and the World Bank, including Ahmed Alrushud, the director of the Saudi Arabian Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority. ThorDrive held a technology introduction and demonstration, which was attended by CEO Kye Dong-Kyoung and key executives.
Kye Dong-kyoung, CEO of ThorDrive, mentioned, "We have been consistently exchanging information with the Saudi Arabian government and Neom city officials since our visit to Saudi Arabia with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport in November of last year." He also stated, "Through ongoing exchanges and discussions in the future, we will strive to create opportunities to contribute to the future of mobility, which is one of the main objectives of Saudi Arabia's high-tech industry-driven economic development plan, 'Vision 2030'."
